ANZAC Day marks the first military action taken by Australian and New Zealand forces during World War I. On 25th April 1915 the soldiers of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps landed at Gallipoli.
ANZAC Day is more than just the anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli during World War I. It is the day we remember all those Australian’s who served and died in war. ANZAC Day is a day of remembrance, gratitude and national pride.

To commemorate this historic event and pay our respects to those who have served their nation, the Returned & Services League of Australia, Western Australia Branch Incorporated (RSLWA) will be hosting the annual ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Kings Park. There will also be a number of other events and festivals taking place around Perth city.
Kings Park ANZAC Day Dawn Service
When: 25th April

ANZAC Day is a solemn day of remembrance, gratitude and national pride. On 25 April 1915, during the First World War, the historic dawn landing of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers at Gallipoli occurred.
The Returned and Services League (RSL) invites you to attend the annual Dawn Service at the State War Memorial in Kings Park. Archival footage is played on large screens on site during a wreath laying ceremony.
Fremantle ANZAC Day Dawn Service
When: 25th April
Where: Monument Hill, Knutsford Street
The Fremantle Dawn Service commences at 5.50 am on ANZAC Day at the Fremantle War Memorial Monument Hill and is coordinated by the City of Fremantle in conjunction with the Fremantle Memorial Wardens.
Two large screens will be installed behind the Monument so that all attendees can clearly see the service on the cenotaph. Expected conclusion of the service is approximately 6:30am.
Rottnest Island ANZAC Day Dawn Service
When: 25th April
Where: Thomson Bay
The Island has a long and proud tradition of military service and on ANZAC Day we commemorate the men and women, both past and present, who have served their country in this moving dawn service.
Presided over by Australian Navy Officers, the ceremony starts at 6.00am on the foreshore as the sun rises over the beautiful waters of Thomson Bay to the lament of the bagpipe. The service will be followed by a Gunfire Breakfast proudly cooked by volunteers.
Fremantle ANZAC Day Parade & Closing Ceremony
When: 25th April
Where: Marine Terrace
Cheer on the marchers throughout Fremantle and follow the crowds back to the Esplanade for the closing ceremony this ANZAC Day.
For those participating in the parade, assembly is at 9:45am and step off is at 10:15am. The parade moves from the Esplanade reserve, along Marine Terrace, up Collie Street and onto Pakenham Street, then on to High Street, down Market Street,a cross South Terrace, down Essex Street and back along Marine Terrace to the Esplanade Reserve where a Closing Ceremony is to take place at 11:00am, estimated conclusion 11:30am.

Fremantle ANZAC Day Commemorative Exhibition

Where: Fremantle Town Hall, 8 William Street
You are invited to view treasures from the Fremantle History Centre’s collection as well as items loaned to the City of Fremantle by descendants of Fremantle’s World War One servicemen for this annual Commemorative Exhibition on ANZAC Day.
Take a self-guided tour through the heritage listed Fremantle Town Hall looking over relics and artefacts that will transport you back in time. Resources from the Australian War Memorial and Fremantle Army Museum will be displayed for one day only for the general public to wander through and view.
The exhibition is the perfect way to wrap up a day of commemorations at the Dawn Service and ANZAC Day parade. Open from 8am – 3pm on 25 April.
ANZAC Day at ANZAC Cottage

Where: ANZAC Cottage, 38 Kalgoorlie St, Mount Hawthorn
The event will be marked at ANZAC Cottage with our now traditional Sunset Service held at 5:15pm “at the going down of the sun”. The ceremony will be preceded by a free wreath making workshop for children at 3pm wherein our young visitors can fashion their own wreaths in readiness for the wreath laying component of our Sunset Service.
