Segways are the most unique and exciting way to explore and soak in the beauty of Australia’s fastest growing city.
Cruise along the beautiful Swan River, soaking up the sights – or stop for photos as your tour guides thrill you with fascinating stories about Perth’s rich history, dynamic boom times and it’s breathtaking plans for the future.
There are plenty of photo opportunities when you cruise along the picturesque riverside and around Elizabeth Quay. If you're lucky, you may see the local bottle neck dolphins having some fun in the Swan River.
The Sightseeing Pass team were lucky enough to join the Perth Segway Tours team for a cruise around Perth City.
The morning began with a lesson in ‘Segway Yoga’. There were no downward dogs or tree poses but we did learn how to find our segway-centre - how to balance and steer the segway.
It was time to jump on board our segways and motor round the obstacle course. Some found it much easier than others to get a handle on steering their vehicle. But by the end of our training session everyone was comfortable and ready to take their segways for a spin around the city.
We cruised past the Bell Tower and made our way to Elizabeth Quay where we learnt about Perth’s latest art installation. The eight-storey sculpture was inspired by the rippling water of the Swan River. The Spanda (more fondly known as ‘the paperclip’) situated in the centre of Elizabeth Quay has become an iconic photo opportunity and landmark.
The next leg of our segway tour took as around John Oldham Park, Perth City’s very own secret garden. The carefully hidden parkland features a lake and waterfall set in lush surrounds. Walk and cycle paths make the area easily accessible, especially via segway.
There’s plenty to explore when you book a segway adventure!
