Experience a weekend in Margaret River with friends

Experience Margaret River with friends

There is nothing more exciting than showing off the stunning beauty of the Margaret River region when you have friends or family visiting from either overseas or interstate.

Lets remember though, Margaret River is actually a small township home to boutique eateries; quaint shopping and course the river itself is frequently explored by nature activities such as kayaking and bird watching.  It’s the surrounding areas around Margaret River that offers the abundance of diversity with its world famous surf beaches, ancient caves and boutique wineries spreading from Busselton, Dunsborough, Yallingup, Witchcliffe , Prevelly and Augusta.  These townships draw global visitation each year thanks to the award winning boutique wines and organic produce that are exported around the world so it's a must to stop and enjoy a meal or two while travelling through.

Now everyone’s pallet is different and so are our budgets so normally when we visit the region we have kids in tow but this trip it was adults only and time to indulge.

It’s been a few years since we ate at Vasse Felix so there was no excuse this time, to not to book in a long lunch in their fine dining restaurant.   The very talented executive chef Aaron Carr is the creation behind the beautiful local cuisine so its no wonder he’s been cooking here for over 20years, the food is simply sensational.   Lunch wouldn’t be complete without a few bottles of 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon completed by a couple of their devine 2014 Cane Cut.

The beauty about travelling in the region is that your next winery is only a matter of a couple of minutes drive before you reach the next. Ensure you split these up by dropping in at the many local boutique shops selling olive oils, cheese, soaps, art and many other gourmet delights like chocolate!

As much as we always like to drive our guests around the stunning southwest in our own car, others may prefer to let someone else do it for them.  This is why booking an all inclusive tour can be a great idea as then there is no missing out on the wine tastings and you can sit back and relax letting someone else do all the work.  It really is a fun way to travel with other visitors making a great day for everyone. The tour companies are all locals living in the region and each offer a different experience – from small private tours to larger coach tours. We can help find the right tour to suit you and your travel group....just contact us with your dates and tastes!
