Full Day Dampier Peninsula & Aboriginal Communities Tour

Broome  >  Adventure

Just a few kilometres out of Broome we head north on the Cape Leveque Road, travelling over rugged terrain on the unsealed sections of the road with our first stop is Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community. Here we visit the famous Sacred Heart Church with its exquisite Pearl Shell Altar built in 1918 by the Pallotine Monks and local Aborigines.

Heading further north our next stop is Lombodina, where the traditional owners will take us on a guided walk of their community. They are happy to share their knowledge about bush foods and medicines, traditional hunting and fishing techniques and their special relationship with their land and the ocean. Also a chance to visit their craft shop where you will find many local hand made products.

Next stop is Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm situated on the tip of the Dampier Peninsula. Enjoy a chef prepared lunch followed by an insightful Pearl Farm Tour to learn about the history of the pearling industry. Whilst here, take the opportunity to visit their showroom where you will see some of the finest South Sea Pearls grown and harvested right there!
