Full Day Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek Adventure
Spend the day experiencing inland Kimberley visiting three of the Kimberley's well known icons, the Prison Boab Tree, Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek leaving you with a great insight into this fascinating part of outback Australia.
We set off on our journey heading north to Willare Bridge, we cross the mighty Fitzroy River and make a morning tea break at one of the Kimberley's most famous landmarks the Prison Boab Tree, once used to house convicts. Whilst here view Myalls Bore before continuing along the famous "Gibb River Road" arriving at Windjana Gorge for lunch. Regarded as a world class geological feature, the gorge is also a renowned freshwater crocodile spotting site.
Afterwards, head to Tunnel Creek, a 750 metre long flooded cavern, wade through knee to thigh high water and hear the story of Jandamawra. Following afternoon tea, we set back to Broome arriving at approximately 10:30pm following an en route stop (own expense).

A moderate level of fitness and mobility is required for this tour as we are walking over uneven ground, climbing rocks and wading through water. You need to bring a pair of shoes that you don't mind getting wet, either reef shoes or old tennis/trainers, and potentially swimming costume and towel. Headlamp torches are supplied. Hotel pickup time available at booking. Please advise of any dietary requirements. The Tunnel Creek component of this tour may not be suitable for children aged 4 and under.
