Fourteen Decades: A History of Fremantle Prison | 1st to 2nd May

Built by convicts in the 1850s and decommissioned as an operating maximum security gaol in 1991, Fremantle Prison, with its solitary cells and gallows is a monument to a system of punishment that is uncomfortably recent. This exhibition focusses on how punishment and reform evolved over time across the Prison's 136 year operational history.

Busselton Forshore Markets | 1st May

Local art, crafts and produce markets on the foreshore at Signal Park in Busselton. Supporting local WA producers.

Unearthed Pemberton Festival | 1st to 15th May

Unearthed Pemberton presents a series of open gates, open studios and events designed to showcase of the region's premier food and wine producers, culinary professionals, art, heritage and of course natural beauty by encouraging the visitor off the beaten track to meet the locals at their labours.

Night Food Market | Wed 4th May

On the first Wednesday of the month City Farm Cafe host their annual Night Food Market. Feast on dishes from some of Perth's best local food stalls and vans. Vegan or vegetarian, sweet or savoury, spicy or cold... A huge selection is guaranteed at each market.

Cinco De Mayo Party | Fri May 6th

Translating literally to ‘Five of May’, Cinco De Mayo is an annual event held where Mexico commemorates its army’s unlikely victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. The Mexican-inspired drinking hole, The Blue Flamingo, will paying their own special tribute to the day, with a free event including tequila specials. Olé!

At Home with Heritage | Fri 6th May

The Perth Cutural Centre will host a fascinating and informative selection of expert talks, guided walking tours and exhibitions. Discover WA heritage treasures at this combined open day in the heart of the City.

RSPCA Million Paws Walk | May 15th

Join the fight against animal cruelty and participate in the the RSPCA Million Paws Walk - a chance to raise funds for vital programs, services and campaigns undertaken by RSPCA WA, as well as supporting their daily battle to put a stop to animal cruelty. Plus, this year is their 20th anniversary, so to celebrate, you can pamper your pooch on the day at the VIP Pooch area.

Sunday Sounds | Sunday 29th May

Music lovers can experience an eclectic array of musical acts at Sunday Sounds – free live music presented by the City of Perth on the last Sunday of the month. From 4 - 7 pm, Where There’s Smoke featuring Alix Jordan will provide the perfect accompaniment to a lazy afternoon picnic with a repertoire of modern classics, and the Charlie-Moon Meader Band will dish up some smooth R&B and jazz from a selection of musical greats.
