The amazing Pink Lake is a salt lake in the Mid West region of Western Australia. The lake is not always pink but the distinctive colour of the water changes as a result of green alga Dunaliella salina, halobacterium Halobacteria cutirubrum, and/or high concentration of brine prawn. The original name of the Pink Lake is Hutt Lagoon.

Departing from Geraldton daily, guests will fly direct to Port Gregory - the historic fishing village which back in the 1850's was once was a busy port for the export of lead and the site of a whaling station. You will see the Hutt Lagoon or the "pink lake" which produces beta carotene, a lucrative aquaculture crop estimated to be worth more than $50M a year worldwide.

You will be amazed how big the Pink Lake is! It is 14 km long and around 2.3 km wide, which makes it be the biggest Pink Lake in Australia.
